I’m a very critical marketer and tend to point out the negatives in ad campaigns, but once in a blue moon a company knocks my socks off.

In particular, AREVA — the global nuclear industry leader — has launched a new ad campaign that’s gaining worldwide attention and, to be honest, I love it.

Why the new campaign? “AREVA will celebrate its 10th birthday in 2011. It is a young brand which has been able to make its mark in a sector dominated by traditional players, particularly with its deliberately relaxed communications.” The below video is a prime example of why the company is so successful — they have a passion to make the world a better place.

The commercial that really caught my attention, which blows almost any Super Bowl commercial out of the water (and 50 feet in the air), is titled Energy: One Powerful Story. It ingeniously guides viewers on a journey through the history of power generation and culminates with nuclear power; AREVA’s specialty. Gotta love the Jurassic Park, Disney-ish feel.
