Taiwan’s Eco-Friendly World Games – A Green Extravaganza

What’s better than a multi-national sporting event in a gorgeous place? A multi-national sporting event in a stadium that’s powered by the sun; that’s what! On July 17, 2009, Taiwan kicked off an 11-day sporting event at the new Main Stadium, which holds a whopping 40,000 people. The games include more than 3,200 athletes from 90 countries. The 31 competitions are made up of artistic and dance sports, martial arts, precision sports, trend sports and strength sports. Some of the sports date back to ancient Greece and Rome, including: boules, fistball, and tug of war. Others, such as martial arts and dragon boat racing, fall back on Asian traditions.

United States – #1 in Wind Power Technology

With fossil fuels quickly diminishing, and our reliance on foreign fuels, not-so-ideal nuclear plants, and a host of other environmentally unfriendly sources, something has to be done to fix the problem. And, I’m happy to say, the United States is truly stepping up to the plate. According to a report released by the U.S. Department of Energy, in 2008 the U.S. was home to the largest spike in wind power development throughout the globe, with wind capacity increasing a whopping 60%.

Making Your Business Green | Where to Start?

Converting business practices to being green and eco-friendly is especially difficult for many businesses that are well-established, slightly more traditional, and stuck on their usual ways. This is a pattern, or shall I say mindset, that can be broken and a level of green zen [ohh I like that!] can be achieved by implementing one green change at a time. This article will hopefully encourage and enlighten businesses that are contemplating adhesion to green, eco-friendly practices.
