This is a photo from the Topanga Canyon lookout, and shows the sun setting over Calabasas. I used a Nikon D90 and set the shutter speed to 2 seconds, which is why the tail lights of cars look like red streaks.

I am pleased to announce that the 8lb. pork shoulder smoked for around 9 hours and came out delicious! I’m sure everyone in Topanga Canyon could smell it.

Ladies and gentleman, after writing numerous articles on Geico’s awesome advertising campaigns, I was startled to see a Geico lizard lookalike staring me down in the garden while I was trimming plants like an old hippie. Who let him in? Was he going to speak to me? Or, worst case scenario, did I have a stalking lacertilia on my hands?

Last weekend I went on a little adventure with Jon Rowen from Camtrol, who introduced me to a tucked away, commonly unknown park in Agoura Hills: Paramount Ranch. I’ve been to most of the parks/trails in Los Angeles, and was surprised I had not heard of Paramount Ranch. I guess we learn new things everyday, ey?

Here’s a video I chopped together of Century City, CA late at night. The first clip is from the gorgeously remodeled mall, which all locals should check out, and the others are shot from the bridge crossing over Olympic Blvd.

This is a test video of my friend Aric and I driving from the top of Runyon Canyon (Solar Dr.) down through Nichols Canyon, Sunset Blvd. and down to Melrose Ave. Shot on Nikon D90 mounted to Camtrol, which I simply stuck out the car’s sunroof like a periscope.

This weekend I decided to go for a hike at the Runyon Canyon hiking trail in the Hollywood Hills. I brought my Nikon D90, Camtrol for shooting HD video, backpack and a bunch of water. Fun times! Check out the photos.
