I’m one picky marketing fanatic and impressing me is difficult. I mean very difficult. But, every now and then, I am truly impressed and when that happens I feel the need to share it with you readers.
The last advertising campaign I wrote about (Ally Bank’s TV commercials) is still one of my favorites, though Nikon has released an awesome video promoting their new Coolpix camera. Being that I’m a Nikon guy (owner of an S50 and a D90) I was glad to see Nikon kicked butt on the video.
The commercial, featuring Japanese pop stars the Helicopter Boyz, was created by GT Tokyo, a Japanese advertising agency. It features the new Coolpix camera and showcases a revolutionary, new built in feature: a projector! How cool is that?
In the commercial, the Helicopter Boyz dance with numerous Coolpix cameras strapped to their body, which are simultaneously displaying images on the wall/screen behind them. Looks futuristic, funky, cool and very memorable.
Kudos to Nikon and the Helicopter Boyz!
