I don’t usually do this, but I feel compelled to let the cat out of the bag. Most companies that use their research to gain an edge over the competition keep their secrets under lock and key. This is just the nature of the game. But, when it comes to some things, uber-cool things, there is a time they must be shared. Fortunately, for everyone reading this, now is that time.
After about 8 months of research, agonizing months of learning Bing and becoming friends with it, I have come to the conclusion that Bing’s algorithm is highly dependent on incoming links as opposed to on-site keywords and other factors. Google’s algorithm, encompassing around 200 ranking factors, is apparently far more complex than Bing.
Moral of the story: if you’re looking to rank well in the Bing search engine, focus on building backlinks to your website via organic, natural, ethical methods. Bam, Bing, as simple as that. Well, sorta.
I hope this information helps and may the force be with you.
Sincerely,
Aaron Schoenberger
