Twitter has become a marketing tool for businesses and individuals of all types, ranging from restaurants to politicians. It’s a very powerful tool and can be helpful for many businesses, especially restaurants. Why? Read on my friends.
For one, Twitter allows instant (but short) updates. This is very important. Websites and blogs usually take time for new content to be displayed in search engines (e.g. Google), so posting sales and time-sensitive information is sometimes difficult. Twitter allows direct access to “followers,” which can be reached in a matter of seconds.
Secondly, as I described in a previous post on Twitter SEO, making Tweets is actually good for SEO. Search engines now display Twitter posts in real-time, which is very beneficial. Have a new menu? Tweet it! Throwing a wine tasting party this weekend? Tweet it! Catch my drift?
Thirdly, customers (and potential customers) love learning about a restaurant before visiting. If your head chef is concocting a new dish, mention it on Twitter. Connecting with customers is personable and leads to longstanding relationships.
I hope this article has been helpful and good luck marketing your restaurant with the internet!
Sincerely,
Aaron Schoenberger
