Looking to farm with your friends from the comfort of your own home without actually having to do work or break a sweat? Well, Zynga makes this possible via their very popular Facebook game “FarmVille.” With 85-million players per month, this game is nothing chuckle at. And, it proves that social/online games are becoming the wave of the future.
This year, the Game Developers Choice Awards recognized and honored games in the social realm for the first time, which is a breakthrough. Of all social games, FarmVille took the cake. For this I say: mucho kudos!
FarmVille’s new website will provide for a cleaner, more ad-free platform where the game can be enjoyed without bothersome messages and other potential Facebook annoyances (messages from ex-girlfriends, etc.). This is an ingenious move. Instead of FarmVille being an auxiliary item to FaceBook, it’s positioning itself as an actual standalone game that can be accessed with Facebook credentials.
I look forward to seeing how things unfold in the future.
Sincerely,
