Tonight I have decided to rant about a topic that has been irking me for months: Why are ‘SEO companies’ investing in Pay-Per-Click (PPC) programs to gain exposure in search engines?
I feel that an SEO company which invests in PPC to rank well in search engines is hypocritical and quite the oxymoron. The principal behind SEO is to achieve organic, natural placement on the internet not to pay for listings. Claiming to provide SEO services to clients but lacking the ability to organically place one’s own website truly scares me. And, if I were a consumer I’d turn the other direction and run.
There are some SEO companies/consultants that are simply too busy to focus on their own site and for this reason they may not rank well in search engines, thus forcing them to purchase keywords. But, on the other hand, a company that is too busy to work on their own site would not need to pay for placement in search engines. Catch my drift?
Hopefully this article will help businesses looking for an SEO company/consultant and may the force be with you. 🙂
Sincerely,
