Goooooodmornin’ fellow Los Angeles residents! It’s time to rise and shine, get up out of your chair, do a funky stretch, and get crackin’ on Social Media marketing for your business. This is a call to action: No more laziness.

I know many of you Los Angeles business owners have heard of Social Media marketing, but don’t really understand it. Words like Tweeting, Blogging, and Social Networking are a foreign language. You feel as if there’s a blockade — a Social Media blockade — that’s preventing your business from succeeding. But, in reality, it’s you yourself.

Recently, I was in the process of renovating a home of mine when I made the decision to tackle installation of the baseboards (nailing, caulking, painting, etc.) solo. I felt discouraged at first, like I couldn’t do it, but after a little research on YouTube, reading a few helpful blog posts, and messing up a couple times, I had them looking pretty spiffy. When it comes to Social Media marketing, at first glance it seems like a supernatural marketing power but in reality any business, with a little due diligence, can engage in such advertising. Keep in mind there are Social Media best practices that need to be researched/understood before engaging potential customers on social channels.

My 3 Social Media marketing tips for Los Angeles businesses can be found below:
1) Continuously update your website/blog with new content and distribute such content throughout the web. This includes social bookmarking websites, social networking sites, etc.
2) Do not, for any reason, push sales on potential customers. Provide information — that’s it.
3) Optimize all content for search engines (Search Engine Optimization aka SEO).

In conclusion, even though our online advertising agency specializes in Social Media marketing campaigns and training, we would like all businesses to benefit from marketing on social channels — whether it’s with our firm or not. Companies that fall behind the times and fail to market via new age channels will be prone to failure, and failing local businesses are good for no one. We want to see every succeed.
