Hectic day of work and no play, but it’s alright, I have a useful SEO tip for the night. Okay, enough rhyming and time for the real fun — SEO.
When optimizing websites and Social Media content for search engines, one of the most commonly overlooked actions involves taking synonyms into account. Business owners, CMOs and marketing consultants need to understand that not everyone thinks like they do, and potential visitors/customers don’t search for the same thing in search engines.
For example, a man is madly in love with a woman he just met, but realizes she’s been stealing paper clips from his desk (5 total) and he decides to press charges. The lady, in the unfortunate situation she’s been presented with, will need a criminal defense attorney. If she’s located in New York City, she may search for the following:
- New York City Criminal Defense Attorney
- New York City Criminal Defense Lawyer
- New York City Criminal Defense Law Firm
- New York City Criminal Defense Law Practice
The above is a rudimentary example, and shows how someone needing one service can search for a variety of things. The same applies for restaurants, clothing stores, marketing companies, etc.
I hope this little tidbit was helpful and good luck!
