Walmart has made a big marketing move that I foresee continuing in the future: They’ve decided to release their much anticipated Black Friday 2010 ad online, which is truly a milestone in my eyes. Instead of waiting till November 21st, the planned release date, Walmart has taken a dive into Social Media and published the circular on their official Facebook page — http://www.facebook.com/walmart.
Being that I’m a Social Media marketer, I’m intrigued by the fact that a print ad intended for tangible purposes has gone digital and created such a huge buzz. Currently, “Walmart Black Friday 2010 ads” is the #3 most searched for thing on Google. This contests to a marketing job well done as well as the power of Social Media in this day and age.
Now it’s time to see if other companies offering Black Friday deals follow suit.
