
A few months back, I received an invitation from a friend in Baltimore, Maryland for a new shopping website that offers special “invitation-only access” to deals on a variety of goods. I thought to myself: How can this site compete with LivingSocial and Groupon. Well, it is.
While researching trending topics on Google Trends, I noticed that the third most popular search is “Gilt Groupe.” The company is generating a major buzz and, most likely, has competitors shaking in their boots.

I’m going to keep an eye on Gilt Groupe and see how they progress. They’re off to an excellent start.
