There are times in life when you feel like you’re on top of the world. Then, there are other times that feel like the world’s caving in. On this chilly night in Los Angeles, I feel like I’ve lost an old friend.
Yahoo has officially pulled the plug on its famed — and very useful — Site Explorer. The nifty tool has gone to a new home; one that will hopefully carry the torch in all its glory. Yahoo stated:
“With the completion of algorithmic transition to Bing, Yahoo! Search has merged Site Explorer into Bing Webmaster Tools. Webmasters should now be using the Bing Webmaster Tools to ensure that their websites continue to get high quality organic search traffic from Bing and Yahoo!. Site Explorer services will not be available from November 21, 2011.”
The truth is, I use Bing Webmaster Tools very rarely and it looks like we’ll become good friends soon enough. I’ve started researching the above-mentioned integration and will followup with an article shortly.
