BMW has recognized the power of social media and decided to integrate social elements into their revolutionary iDrive system, which is ingenious. Buyers that fork over an additional $250 for the BMW Apps upgrade can do everything from post on Facebook to listen to music on Pandora, album graphics and all.
BMW Apps essentially syncs select iPhone’s applications with your car, including: Twitter, Facebook, Pandora, Calendar, etc. As apps are developed, BMW will likely update their iPhone app to offer increased connectivity.
BMW’s biggest rival, Mercedes-Benz, is following suit with the launch of their Mercedes-Benz Apps. The question is will it compare, and only time will tell.
