Since we launched back in 2007 the world of social media marketing has drastically changed and with social media impacting our daily lives today, when it comes to business, there’s been a question brewing that we want to touch on.
In particular, is social media marketing now a waste of time and money given all of the competition or is it still a viable method to produce revenue for your company? The answer is simple though the explanation is a little more complex.
Simply said: social media marketing is absolutely worth the money and time spent on creating content, proactively engaging with people that have similar interests, and ultimately using those connections to generate revenue. But it has to be cool and organic.
The biggest failure we see and why the question often comes up around social media marketing being a waste is due to downfalls in the past – people/companies with good intentions believed in strategies they developed/deployed which ended up flopping in the end. It’s not necessarily their fault and is usually due to a lack of experience, and shouldn’t give social media marketing a bad reputation as a whole; it just wasn’t done right from the start.
If you find the right social media marketing company/consultant who truly understands your business/goals the sky’s the limit, and once you form that marriage social media marketing will be worth its weight in gold.
