Developing social media marketing strategies is an art and it’s interesting how many times people lump organic social media marketing efforts with advertising though the two are drastically different. This post hits on some of the main differences and hopefully sheds light on what your company should be focused on.
First off, advertising on social media (promoted posts on Facebook/Instagram, etc.) have a very limited shelf life where when you stop paying everything disappears – aka it delivers potential short-term results (if you’re lucky) but no lasting value.
On the other hand, looking at social media marketing strategies where you’re actually using the platforms for the purpose they were created – to be social – that unlocks new opportunities where you’re building true relationships with people that have common interests (cars, crypto, food, real estate, travel, etc.) and therefore have a high probability of converting them to customers in the future.
This all comes down to being targeted ranging from fully understanding your target markets to also looking internally and understanding where your company wants to be in the future. From there you can develop a true, organic social media strategy that skips advertising and uses cool content and natural engagement to boost exposure/sales.
