Over the past 15 years we’ve guided restaurants and food brands throughout the world and one of the biggest mistakes we see is companies using social media as a sales tool as opposed to truly understanding how social media marketing really works then executing on the big picture.
Essentially, there are 2 key things you must do to promote your restaurant: Create cool content and communicate with people on social networks like a real human being. It’s as simple as that.
The days of sharing self-serving posts are out the door, and you need to focus on content that shows why you are special while also implementing the “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” philosophy.
For example, all of the effort going into creating polished content via your social media marketing teams, scheduling posts based on XYZ, etc. takes the authenticity out of the equation.
And many times that strict structure is what leads to failure as opposed to being agile and adapting in the moment… Putting on your tinfoil hat that accelerates your superpowers and allows you to listen to what’s happening around you.
The point is, the best way to promote your restaurant or food brand on social media is to be authentic, honest, post epic food and that magical recipe will manifest.
