We’ve been guiding companies on SEO for over 15 years and one of the common questions we see asked online is around the costs associated with SEO services; particularly what do SEO companies charge and what should you expect to pay?
And that brings 2 things to mind that are worth pointing out: The costs for SEO services are directly related to your goals (e.g. trying to rank on top of Google in the U.S. vs globally) as well as the industry you’re in and consumers you’re going after.
For example, is the goal to get a local Italian deli to rank on top of Google for local keywords or SEO for a global Italian olive oil brand that wants to take over? These are the core things that determine your future/success and most importantly the work involved to get you there.
When searching for SEO companies, be sure to do your homework and use the mentality of “don’t show me what you’re going to do, show me what you’ve done.” Essentially, the proof is in the pudding and you as a potential client should ask for examples of results SEO companies produced in the past.
In a nutshell, there’s no dollar amount we can predict as to what you should pay for SEO services because every project is different, and if an SEO company tries to quote you before grasping the full scope that’s a red flag.
