The aviation world is an interesting place and it’s exciting to see how behaviors have evolved over time with social media playing a key role in that. And nowadays all industries have been influenced by social media with policies/strategies being implemented company-wide.
Looking at the aviation industry in particular, aside from commercial airlines like Delta, JetBlue, United, etc. there’s a network of private jet companies that charter flights throughout the globe though how do they secure clients and what makes them special?
Below are some of the questions we’ve gotten over the years and our feedback based on guiding private jet companies, commercial airlines, tourism boards, Fortune 500s and others:
How do you market a private jet company?
One of the first steps towards marketing a private jet company is truly understanding the target markets then finding creative ways to reach them ranging from social media marketing to SEO and other forms of internet marketing. Then the next step is to analyze the data (what’s working and not working) to produce the best results over time.
What’s the best way to find private jet clients?
The best way for private jet charter companies to find new clients is to first establish a game plan – essentially who do we want to target and why – then start to fuse those insights with flight data/patterns. For example, routes like LAX to JFK may be good opportunities though flights between LAX and San Jose (SJO) are more frequent, take a fraction of the time/fuel and can therefore produce more predictable revenue and profitable adventures in the future.
How profitable is the private jet business?
Launching a new airline in any fashion whether it’s on a small scale like a private jet company offering express services between Los Angeles and Las Vegas or Richard Branson with Virgin Atlantic that’s changing the world – it’s all relative. The private jet industry can be very lucrative if you’re truly bringing something special to the table.
How much does it cost to commission a private jet?
This is one of the most common questions asked online around this topic and we feel it’s important to address it: Without having a clear understanding of when you’re traveling, to where and factoring in everything else mentioned above there’s no way to accurately price out a private jet at this particular moment in time. Everything’s fluid and changes in the moment (e.g. the price of jet fuel spiking tomorrow).
What private jet companies do celebrities use?
Based on our experience many celebrities (actors, musicians, etc.) charter private jets through various companies while some of the wealthiest people are celebrities behind the scenes and have their own private jets (from Boeing, Embraer, Gulfstream and others).
The point is, social media marketing for the aviation industry is rapidly changing similar to what we’re seeing in other markets, and if you need help navigating the future let’s connect: aaron@thebrainchildgroup.com
