The times are changing and it’s exciting to see how Meta and Google are back on the same team sharing data/insights in a variety of ways, including Google search results now fusing Instagram content.
This is impactful for a variety of reasons and touches on the basics of what we know now that will eventually impact the future. Only a sprinkle of what’s to come, but also a dump truck of information when sorting through materials manually versus relying on technology to give you that extra boost.
Social media has been forever changed due to AI and now the marriage between SEO and social media marketing will always produce the best outcomes because the two biggest focuses/spends on marketing nowadays for companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500s have become one.
The best SEO person in the world with no social media experience is in a pickle now and the same applies to social media “experts” that aren’t familiar with SEO.
Two things to point out…
Number one: If companies like Google, Meta and others work together to share data they can normalize/improve the processes and therefore provide the best experiences for their users while being complementary to each other. Why be on opposite sides of the table as opposed to working together to really make a difference. Sometimes competitors can actually be your best friends.
Secondly, given the above, Google search has been forever changed by a partnership/integration that will be ongoing for many years to come, though how do companies and internal/external marketing teams adapt to the times? And how long will that take once they figure out what’s actually going on?
We are working on more research behind the scenes and will be dropping insights soon. Stay tuned.
