It is always interesting how people relate time, location and space (similar to Einstein) and that directly applies to the restaurants we eat at, local gas stations we visit and other similar behaviors that create patterns in our lives. And many times it’s those behaviors/patterns that tell the true story.
As a good example, looking at some of the highest profile civil cases involving social media in recent times (many we guided) there was a strong element of not only what was posted and when, but also where it was derived (location).
Essentially, whether we’re working on a case that involves analyzing data in Los Angeles, Miami, NYC or anywhere else in the world there’s a clear correlation between not only the social media behaviors/linguistics but also how such applies to particular locations. As a perfect example, which carries over to social media, imagine the linguistic patterns/accent of someone from Austin, Texas vs Brooklyn, NY – drastically different.
And most importantly, when there’s big money on the line and law firms need the best social media experts it’s worth stepping out of your bubble (trying to find someone local) and instead finding the best regardless of their location. If you can spend $100k to fly in the best social media expert in the world to make your firm $100M tomorrow that’s worth it any day of the week.
The point is, remove location from the equation and focus on winning.
