We are living in interesting times where AI has become a household term and social media drives a vast majority of our daily lives in a wide variety of ways. Though how do companies cut through the white noise (aka BS) and gain clarity into the future?
First and foremost, if you can’t understand humans at the core and their behaviors in various scenarios, how are you going to effectively market to them or solve their problems? And that’s exactly why internal marketing teams and even outside agencies fail because they just don’t get it which is a byproduct of operating with blinders.
Secondly, going back to the AI side of things, how can a social media marketing agency be successful today for their clients if they’re not intimately involved with AI? Simple answer: They can’t be and will never be due to the speed at which things are progressing now.
With Meta/Instagram relying more on their Llama models (I was at their HQ for the launch last year) and now seeing where things are headed in the future everything makes sense. Though companies need guidance so their objectives make sense to them and they can therefore execute on their goals.
The fuzzy pie in the sky (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) and thoughts around how these are going to magically transform the world was adopted by many, but didn’t really pan out in the end. And that directly ties back to everything in life: Things that are easy everyone attaches to, though not many go after solving difficult problems.
Lastly, and this is aimed at companies we’ve guided around the world ranging from tech startups to hedge funds, global food brands, law firms, Fortune 500s, etc… Take a step back and rethink your digital/social marketing budgets/strategies because things are about to be flipped upside down.
We’ll be sharing more on this soon.
