We are living in a world where social media and public relations for businesses drive our everyday lives, yet many large companies ranging from Fortune 500s to Global 2000 companies still stick with old school, aging PR firms that just aren’t up to speed now.
This is a Public Business Announcement (variation of the old school Public Service Announcements) to jump on a call with your internal team handling PR then the outside agencies/services to see if they get the world today and where it’s heading in the future.
And that ties back to the core of this blog post: Does your existing PR firm and/or internal team actually understand AI, SEO and social media? If not, that can become a major roadblock to future PR efforts.
Everything now is so connected that you really need to see the big picture and know how to execute on it before implementing certain slices of the pie/puzzle. Recently a company contacted us after having a press release totally flop and subsequently the launch of a new product/solution, and all of that could have been prevented by doing research beforehand while having the right team.
The Founder of The Brainchild Group, Aaron Schoenberger, stated: “This all goes back to the classic saying around don’t tell me what you’re going to do, show me what you’ve done.”
Essentially, whether analyzing a proposal from a PR firm, marketing agency, etc. you gotta take a step back, think about the situation in its entirety, and request proof around how such theories they’re presenting produced results in the past before paying for a pie in the sky solution.
The main point is that everything is changing rapidly now and it’s a good time for all companies to analyze not only PR firms but all outside consultants/providers to ensure they’re adapting and still leading the charge in their respective fields.
