FTC Publishes Final Guide Governing Blog Testimonials/Endorsements

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has released a new set of guidelines geared towards testimonials and reviews on blogs and other social media platforms. The guidelines require marketers to divulge any compensation/benefits they may have received for a particular testimonial or review; a guideline which is geared towards adding a sense of transparency to the social media world. As blogging has slowly evolved into a part of daily life, blog visitors often find themselves stuck in a cloud of confusion. Are reviews really reviews? Is someone’s opinion REALLY their opinion?
