MSNBC, one of the leaders in breaking news, has launched an awesome new mobile website that caught me off-guard (in a good way).
I have been waking up, jumping on my iPhone, and reading the morning news for a few years now. It’s just so convenient. When I woke up yesterday and jumped on msnbc.com I was pleasantly surprised to see a new mobile website with a clean, spruced-up design.
The new mobile design has a Bing-esque feel, which was not present before. The previous mobile site, when compared to Bing and msnbc.com, appeared as if it were a different entity. Now, as pictured in the below photos, the mobile site has a more branded, coherent feel.
Also, regarding functionality, MSNBC designers took the columned categories (U.S. News, Entertainment, Business, etc.) and moved them from the bottom (footer area) to the top, which I’m not sure if I like yet. Maybe I’m just stuck in my old ways.
All of you news and designs buffs should definitely take a peek.
Enjoy!
Sincerely,
Aaron Schoenberger
