I can say that I’m a pretty good marketer and wouldn’t be lying, but when it comes to gardening/landscaping I’m absolutely clueless. On the plus side, I’m learning.
Recently I was looking to buy a few trees, including a meyer lemon tree and a tangerine tree among many other plants. I’m on a mission to grow a majority of the produce I consume, which is a daunting task for a beginner, and I must start somewhere. After purchasing all sorts of plants from large hardware stores (I won’t mention names), I realized that not only did I know nothing, but most of the workers are in the same boat. I was given next to no information when I asked questions and ended up with piles of dead plants a few weeks later.
After a little online research I found a nursery that truly changed my garden as well as my eating habits: Boething Treeland Farms.
Ever since I first visited the Boething Treeland Farms location in Woodland Hills, CA I’ve been hooked. Paul and Andrew have been extremely helpful and have answered all of my questions, which has resulted in a thriving garden. I now understand the importance of strategic watering to build deep root structures, using organic compost, enriching ground soil, etc. This past week I harvested about 6 jalapenos, 6 fresno chiles, 12 banana peppers, 10 cherry tomatoes, a handful of garlic chives, and 2 dozen strawberries. I was stoked!
If you live in Woodland Hills, Calabasas, Thousand Oaks or anywhere in Los Angeles for that matter, take a cruise over to Boething Treeland and enjoy the scenery. Put your green thumb to work.
