For anyone that’s an LA local you’re familiar with Medieval Times which is always an epic adventure while at the same time the knights fighting/jousting is no different than marketing strategies nowadays: Who’s going to implement the best SEO, social media, PR and other tactics to strategically win? That’s the fun.
However, putting fun aside and when it comes to helping people as a doctor while also running a profitable business, that’s where another form of jousting takes place; particularly around internet marketing for doctors and where they should allocate their budgets ranging from SEO to social media and more.
Taking a step back, the big difference between SEO and social media marketing for doctors comes down to this: Targeting people searching for things in the moment via SEO (ranking on top) which translates to direct $ vs using social media to build a brand with the hope of that producing a return on your investment in the future. There’s both a transactional and speculative approach or a blend of the two.
Additionally, could you explore other options like Google Ads? Of course, but keep in mind that’s a bidding game almost like gambling where you have to pay the most per-click (many times $50+ CPC in the medical space) to get on top then once you turn off ads there’s zero shelf life. Essentially, paying to play in the moment at a very high rate with no residual value.
Most importantly, running ads has no bearing on results that appear in ChatGPT, Grok, etc. in the long term whereas sharing helpful, informative, strategic, optimized content hits on SEO along with everything else.
