It is unfortunate that we’re meeting on these terms that were likely spurred by issues you’ve been experiencing with social media strategies in the past while also searching for solutions to make things better in the future, and hopefully this post sheds more light on everything.
First and foremost, when it comes to social media marketing campaigns/strategies or anything else in life, the old saying holds true: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” And when that continues to happen on a large scale it equates to tens if not hundreds of millions being spent/wasted at the biggest companies in the world (Fortune 500, S&P 500, etc.) while also missing out on revenue along the way. Something has to change.
Secondly, to influence change it really takes an executive to grab the bull/team by the horns and guide it in the right direction, and many times that’s combined with an outside resource with a fresh set of eyes (e.g. business or social media consultant) with the experience to analyze the current situation then help get everything on track. Looking at things internally with a small lens like a periscope is very limited, so what are you really doing to see then capitalize on the big picture?
Lastly, there’s a reason why we as humans have two ears and two eyes yet one mouth: It’s to listen, learn and adapt before we speak. However, while many people are speaking and theorizing today, who’s actually executing? And ultimately the data/revenue speaks for itself.
