4th of July — good ole’ 4th of July… I always love seeing fireworks, relaxing with friends/family, and eating amazing food. Such a fun holiday. This year I decided to sneak out to Santa Monica Pier, solo, and snap photos of the fireworks in Marina Del Rey and also the cool, new solar-powered Ferris wheel…
Photos | La Brea Tar Pits + Page Museum
Ahhhhhhh…. A nice, breezy, colorful day in Los Angeles. As I relaxed at home I thought to myself: what’s the greenest place to visit right now? I needed to get out, get some fresh air, and put work aside for once (you all know how that is). I didn’t want to drive anywhere far, spend excessive money on typical Los Angeles attractions, and wanted to see a hint of nature in the heart of this bustling city. So, I decided to visit the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits, which is next to Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Fairfax and Wilshire.
Taiwan’s Eco-Friendly World Games – A Green Extravaganza
What’s better than a multi-national sporting event in a gorgeous place? A multi-national sporting event in a stadium that’s powered by the sun; that’s what! On July 17, 2009, Taiwan kicked off an 11-day sporting event at the new Main Stadium, which holds a whopping 40,000 people. The games include more than 3,200 athletes from 90 countries. The 31 competitions are made up of artistic and dance sports, martial arts, precision sports, trend sports and strength sports. Some of the sports date back to ancient Greece and Rome, including: boules, fistball, and tug of war. Others, such as martial arts and dragon boat racing, fall back on Asian traditions.
Ford’s Entering The Green Market With Their New EcoBoost Technology
Since I was young I have always been a car nut. I remember walking down the street as a young fellow and listening to cars drive by, then I would guess the make and model. After years upon years of fine-tuning, I am able to pick out most cars — a Mustang (deep, mean, gurgling), AMG Mercedes (smooth, clean, deep sound), Porsche (raspy and higher pitched), etc. Though, now that times have progressed, I’m more impressed by a car that passes by and makes little to no sound. And, Ford’s new EcoBoost technology is something my ears and eyes really like!
Toyota’s Solar-Powered Flower Workstations
Toyota has created a garden of 18-foot-high plastic flowers in Manhattan’s Flatiron Plaza to celebrate the launch of the third-generation Prius. The flowers act as a technology and communications hub for each passerby — such a cool concept. The surreal, almost Disney-like flowers sport solar panels behind their pedals and at the base of the stems…
Kenneth Hahn Park | Photos From my Journey in Los Angeles
Another nice day here in Los Angeles and I decided to take a hike at Kenneth Hahn State Park. And, I’m sooooo happy I did! When I was a kid, I’m talking about 7-10 years old, I used to always visit Kenneth Hahn with the YMCA. It’s tucked away in the hills in Baldwin Park and offers all sorts of cool, green features including miles of hiking trails, 2 lakes that are home to many types of birds, a Japanese garden and much more!

Making Your Business Green | Where to Start?
Converting business practices to being green and eco-friendly is especially difficult for many businesses that are well-established, slightly more traditional, and stuck on their usual ways. This is a pattern, or shall I say mindset, that can be broken and a level of green zen [ohh I like that!] can be achieved by implementing one green change at a time. This article will hopefully encourage and enlighten businesses that are contemplating adhesion to green, eco-friendly practices. In some instances, such as this one, the grass is in fact greener on the other side.
