Photos | Franklin Canyon Park/Reservoir in Beverly Hills

This past Saturday I took a short, scenic hike at Franklin Canyon Park (also Franklin Canyon Reservoir) in Beverly Hills with my friends Aric and Nanook (Aric’s dog), which was awesome! And yes, I consider Aric’s dog Nanook my friend — he’s my sidekick.

The Franklin Canyon Reservoir was built in 1982 of compacted earth, though I doubt it’s functional today. It’s more overgrown with plants and serves more as a park rather than a water supply. In my opinion, it’s much cooler now.

Please find a few photos of the park, Aric and Nanook below. Enjoy!

  1. Thanks for visiting one of the park sites in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Great pictures, especially the one with your canine friend! Just an FYI – the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area is hosting its annual Spirit of the Mountains photo contest for pictures taken within the recreation area boundary. Submissions accepted through Oct. 31: http://www.researchlearningcenter.com/samo/photo/ Happy shooting!
