Century City Night Photography | Los Angeles, CA

A collection of slow-shutter photographs that were taken in Century City, California on October 1st 2009. It was a gorgeous night and not busy at all, so we were able to sneak in some cool photos and videos. The videos will be edited shortly and will ultimately be a time-lapse of Century City. The photos/videos were shot on a Nikon D90 DSLR, which is ideal for shoots like this. Most photos were photographed with a 15-second shutter speed and F32 aperture setting…. Enjoy!

Bimmerfest 2009 Photos | An Event for all BMW Enthusiasts

I was just sorting through some old images/videos and noticed a bunch of fairly decent photos from Bimmerfest 2009, which took place at the Santa Barbara Polo Club this year. I have been attending the event for the past 5 years or so, and have to admit this year (2009) was better than any in the past. More vendors, larger/cooler location, and gorgeous view of the mountains. For all who haven’t heard of Bimmerfest, it is one of the largest BMW gatherings in the world, if not the largest, and attracts visitors from around the globe. Each year I meet people who drove hundreds if not thousands of miles to attend the event, which shows real dedication.

Santa Monica Pier Night Photos | Nikon D90 w/ Slow Shutter Speed

A few days ago the weather here in Los Angeles finally letup, the heat subsided, and I crawled out of my air conditioned hole. I decided to take a quick drive to Santa Monica Pier and snap some night photos with a friend of mine. Parking in Santa Monica is quite difficult, unless you want to pay $10-$20, and I was very stoked to find a parking spot on the street just outside of the Santa Monica Pier, which was 100% free. My friend and I simply walked down the ramp leading to the pier and within 1-minute we were on the pier; stinky water and all…

Photos From Press Conference w/ Arnold Schwarzenegger

Here are a few photos from a press conference that I had attended on Friday, September 18th. Arnold Schwarzenegger was instrumental in terminating eviction notices that were given to 20 disabled residents of Regency Court in Monrovia, CA. To read more about the issue, check out my previous post: Arnold Schwarzenegger Says “Hasta La Vista” To Eviction Notices…

Arnold Schwarzenegger Says “Hasta La Vista” To Eviction Notices

I remember being a kid, and watching Arnold Schwarzenegger blow stuff up on TV; It was just the coolest thing ever (I know, typical boy). But, today, the Terminator was a true hero. A good friend of mine who I’ve known since junior high, Lily Hixon, was unfortunately born with Down syndrome and has had to overcome many challenges in her life. One challenge was to gain the ability to live alone and hold a steady job, which she now does with ease. Her home is clean as a whistle and whenever I visit I’m greeted with a hug, a cold drink, and a warm smile.

Recent Photos From Santa Monica Beach

This past weekend I decided to cruise to Santa Monica beach, in Southern California, and snap some photos. It was a gorgeous day and luckily it paid off. Visibility was excellent, and I had to take advantage of such. Check out the below photos and feel free to share your thoughts! 🙂

WOW! Scary Video + Photos of Fires in the Foothills of Northern Los Angeles

Scary photos and videos, oh my! Last night, just around sunset, I decided to go on the roof a snap photos of the sunset. To my surprise, I had a very good view of the fires in the Los Angeles hills. I could see large flames shooting in the air. Scary — it looks so close. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a whopping 121,000 square acres have already been scorched and property damage is, so far, estimated at $14 million. Luckily, the Mount Wilson observatory and communications equipment (antennas for phone companies, emergency services, etc.) remains unharmed.

Topanga Canyon Hike w/ Nikon D90 + Voltaic Generator Solar Bag

This Saturday just happened to be my birthday, and a bunch of friends were asking me where I wanted to go.. I thought about it for a few days and decided I’d love to go hiking, to a cool spot, and simply get out of Los Angeles (proper) for a day. We drove about 15-minutes from my house, up the Pacific Coast Highway, and made a right turn on Topanga Canyon. From that point forward, the directions will have to be a mystery. I could tell you, but I’d have to kill you. =)~

Solar Air Conditioners | Southern California Gas Co. Goes Green

As the title reads, Southern California Gas company has taken a green initiative and is testing solar-powered air conditioners. This, by all means, is a step in the right direction. SoCal Gas Co., We applaud you! According to CNET, “Both products–one from Hawaiian start-up Sopogy and another from HelioDynamics in the U.K.–reflect and concentrate incoming sunlight onto a pipe to heat water. That heated water is used in place of gas or electricity to power an industrial absorption chiller, which creates cold air using a heat exchanger and compressor.” For all of you car fanatics, this is similar to the cooling kits that are available for forced induction systems (superchargers or turbos)..
