Santa Monica Pier Night Photos | Nikon D90 w/ Slow Shutter Speed

A few days ago the weather here in Los Angeles finally letup, the heat subsided, and I crawled out of my air conditioned hole. I decided to take a quick drive to Santa Monica Pier and snap some night photos with a friend of mine. Parking in Santa Monica is quite difficult, unless you want to pay $10-$20, and I was very stoked to find a parking spot on the street just outside of the Santa Monica Pier, which was 100% free. My friend and I simply walked down the ramp leading to the pier and within 1-minute we were on the pier; stinky water and all…

Marketing Rant | False Real Estate Advertisements Annoy Me!

I don’t know about you, but I just can’t stand all of the false real estate advertisements I see all over the net; they really annoy me. As a customer, misleading ads that are intended to draw visitors to a real estate broker’s site are a big turn-off. Providing factual, accurate information is the one and only way to attract qualified visitors and maintain a decent online image. Some of the classic, misleading ads I see include…

Photos From Press Conference w/ Arnold Schwarzenegger

Here are a few photos from a press conference that I had attended on Friday, September 18th. Arnold Schwarzenegger was instrumental in terminating eviction notices that were given to 20 disabled residents of Regency Court in Monrovia, CA. To read more about the issue, check out my previous post: Arnold Schwarzenegger Says “Hasta La Vista” To Eviction Notices…

Real Estate Marketing | Finding a Niche, Then Targeting It

The housing market is still doing quite horrible, and real estate agents have been hit hard. With sales down, and marketing budgets very limited, marketing real estate has become increasingly difficult. One excellent way to increase sales and brand exposure is to identify and target a specific niche. For example, are most of your clients looking for a loft in Los Angeles? If so, focus specifically on lofts and offer information, photos, videos, and anything else that may bring in potential buyers. Loft Living LA has done an excellent job in identifying a specific market and I see them mentioned all over the internet. Kudos!

Ally Bank Television Commercials | I Love Ally Bank’s Commercials!

When it comes to marketing, I’m one critical person, and sometimes too critical. This can be bad, though sometimes good. Lately, I have been noticing and critiquing Ally Bank’s television commercials and have to admit — I love them! This is very rare for me to say, but I am being absolutely honest. I think their marketing campaign ideally positions the bank in a time when banks are frowned upon and not trusted. The commercials establish trust and a sense of transparency that I have not seen before. In business, transparency is extremely important.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Says “Hasta La Vista” To Eviction Notices

I remember being a kid, and watching Arnold Schwarzenegger blow stuff up on TV; It was just the coolest thing ever (I know, typical boy). But, today, the Terminator was a true hero. A good friend of mine who I’ve known since junior high, Lily Hixon, was unfortunately born with Down syndrome and has had to overcome many challenges in her life. One challenge was to gain the ability to live alone and hold a steady job, which she now does with ease. Her home is clean as a whistle and whenever I visit I’m greeted with a hug, a cold drink, and a warm smile.

Sonic Boom in Los Angeles From Space Shuttle Discovery | WOW!

I’ve heard sonic booms, have shot guns, saw things explode (building implosions) and, after all I’ve seen, today’s sonic boom from the space shuttle Discovery almost made me change my pants. No, just kidding, it wasn’t that bad, but it did startle everyone quite a bit. At close to 6PM today, I was relaxing with a few friends at the Coffee Bean, which is located next to the Farmer’s Market and The Grove in Los Angeles. We were having a conversation about the economy and all of the sudden two large bangs went off. Being that it’s 9-11 and all, I think many people had their guard up, and this freaked them out especially. Everyone immediately, and I guess you can say understandably, started looking to the sky. The friends I was with (a few doctors, a judge, a real estate broker, and a couple others) seemed to not be startled at all; they took a very nonchalant approach. Though I myself wasn’t scared, I did feel a bit uneasy.

Website Design | What to Look for in a Website Designer

Nowadays, in all reality, a company’s website is truly one of the most important aspects of the business. A unique, representative website to promote online exposure has become paired with success. In fact, not having a website, or some sort of web presence, sucks credibility from a business, thus turning customers away. When looking for a website designer, my thoughts are: do it once, and do it right. Thoroughly brainstorm all aspects of the desired website including flow, color scheme, menu location, content, plans for the future, etc. Research and thought is the key to success along with finding the right website designer.
